ROUND 1 RESULTS - June 2007

Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's WORD WELTER puzzle contest. There were 8 Round 1 entries and 4 Round 2 entries for the June 2007 puzzles.

Since half of the players win, there are 4 Round 1 winners and 2 Round 2 winners for a total of $122.

Total prizes paid in Word Welter is now $1,356.

All winners will receive forms asking if they wish to continue to the next round. The forms are enclosed with each monthly mailing. Winners who wish to risk their prizes and continue to the following round must sign and return the forms by the given deadline. Winners who wish to stop and take their prizes may discard the signature forms. Winners will receive either their prize check or their higher round puzzle(s) with the next month's Round 1 puzzle. If there is an odd number of players for a given higher round, one player will be held over to a later month.

David Smallberg had the 1401-point top-scoring solution in Round 1.
     AMPLIFY 148 JUKEBOX 118 QUONDAM 123
     CHINTZY 133 JUST 72 STOPLIGHT 155
     DOUGHBOY 88 PERPLEX 158 UNSWERVING 116
     JAMAICAN 198 PHOTOG 92

Since there were 4 winners you did not need the top score to win. In fact, you could score 35 points lower and still win. The cutoff for winners was at 1366. Winning Round 1 prizes of $18 each are
     1401 David Smallberg
     1395 M. J. Antchagno
     1395 Bonita Hauff
     1366 Otilia Elmasian

ROUND 2
