ROUND 1 RESULTS - February 2010

       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 21 competing entries in the February 2010 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 3 complete groups of 6 players. These 3 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 to compete for $175. There is also one partial group with 3 players. The winner of that group will receive $20.

       Total prize money won this month is $125. The Tournament of Riches has now paid $66,307 in cash prizes.

       All winners will receive forms asking if they wish to continue to the next round. The forms are enclosed with each monthly mailing. Winners who wish to risk their prizes and continue to the following round must sign and return the forms by the given deadline. Winners who wish to stop and take their prizes may discard the signature forms. Winners will receive either their prize check or their higher round puzzle(s) with the next month's Round 1 puzzle. If the number of players for a given higher round is not an even multiple of 6, then some players will be held over to a later month.

       There is still one copy left of our valuable How To Win booklet. You can get it for only $6, which includes postage and handling. ($6.50 in Canada, $8 overseas.) The booklet is full of tips and techniques for winning Tournament of Riches, One On One and similar contests.

       Robert Thrift had the top-scoring 235-point Round 1 solution shown below. The cutoff was at 225 points.
