ROUND 1 RESULTS - November 2007

       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 25 competing entries in the November 2007 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 4 complete groups of 6 players. These 4 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 to compete for $175. There is also one partial group with 1 player. The winner of that group will receive $11.

       Total prize money won this month is $151. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $62,871.

       All winners will receive forms asking if they wish to continue to the next round. The forms are enclosed with each monthly mailing. Winners who wish to risk their prizes and continue to the following round must sign and return the forms by the given deadline. Winners who wish to stop and take their prizes may discard the signature forms. Winners will receive either their prize check or their higher round puzzle(s) with the next month's Round 1 puzzle. If there is an odd number of players for a given higher round, one player will be held over to a later month.

       James Harrison had the 242-point top Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 5 groups, you did not need the top score to win. You could score 8 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 234 points.

       There are 5 players who are still waiting to play Round 2. Three of them have been waiting for a year or longer. As soon as 1 more player chooses to continue to Round 2 the next puzzle can be issued.

       REMEMBER: if you want to play in Round 2, you must return the signature slip by the deadline. We will send your Round 2 puzzle at the appropriate time. You can do this as often as you like, and accumulate pending entries for Round 2. You can continue winning Round 2 and higher round prizes even years after you have passed the $1000 limit.

       There are just a handful of our valuable How To Win booklet left. You can get a copy for only $6, which includes postage and handling. ($6.50 in Canada, $8 overseas.) The booklet is full of tips and techniques for winning Tournament of Riches, One On One and similar contests.
