ROUND 1 RESULTS - August 2005


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 52 competing entries for the August 2005 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 8 complete groups of 6 players. These 8 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 4 players. The winner of that group will receive $25.

       Total prize money won this month is $305. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $58,062.

       Donna Fritschka had the 247-point top Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 9 groups, you did not need the top score to win. In fact, you could score 7 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 240 points with 40 on the top row.
