ROUND 1 RESULTS - May 2005


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 55 competing entries for the May 2005 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 9 complete groups of 6 players. These 9 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 1 player. The winner of that group will receive $11.

       Total prize money won this month is $326. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $56,971.

       Joel Prescott had the 235-point top Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 10 groups, you did not need the top score to win. In fact, you could score 7 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 228 points.
