ROUND 1 RESULTS - April 2005


       Congratulations to Kathleen Conaway who has reached $1000 in winnings. She is the 23rd player to reach this goal. She is no longer eligible to play Round 1, so all other players will move 1 place higher.

       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 58 competing entries for the April 2005 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 9 complete groups of 6 players. These 9 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 4 players. The winner of that group will receive $25.

       There were 6 entries in Round 2, making 1 group of players. The winners will share $175. The winner will receive $175, or may choose to go to Round 3 to try for $1,000.

       Total prize money won this month is $515. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $56,456.

       Joel Prescott had the 232-point top Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 10 groups, you did not need the top score to win. In fact, you could score 8 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 224 points with 36 on the top row.
