ROUND 1 RESULTS - December 2003

       The Tournament of Riches has now passed a major milestone. In January 2004 total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches topped $50,000! Winnings now total a whopping $50,155 and climbing.

       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 61 competing entries for the December 2003 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 10 complete groups of 6 players. These 10 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 1 player. The winner of that group will receive $10.

       Total prize money won this month is $360. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $50,155.

       Joel Prescott had the top-scoring Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 11 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 7 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 218 points.
