ROUND 1 RESULTS - November 2003


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 59 competing entries for the November 2003 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 9 complete groups of 6 players. These 10 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 5 players. The winner of that group will receive $30.

       There were 4 entries in Round 2, making 1 group of players. The winner will receive $175, or may choose to go to Round 3 to try for $1,000.

       Total prize money won this month is $520. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $49,880.

       Joel Prescott had the top-scoring Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 10 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 6 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 239 points with 40 on the top row.
