ROUND 1 RESULTS - October 2003


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 65 competing entries for the October 2003 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 10 complete groups of 6 players. These 10 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 5 players. The winner of that group will receive $30.

       There were 5 entries in Round 2, making 1 group of players. The winners will share $175.

       Total prize money won this month is $555. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $49,395.

       Joel Prescott had the top-scoring Round 1 solution shown below. Since there were 11 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 10 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 222 points.
