ROUND 1 RESULTS - June 2003


       Congratulations to Hugh Gould who has reached $1000 in winnings. He is the 18th player to reach this goal. He is no longer eligible to play Round 1, so all other players will move up 1 more place.

       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 72 competing entries for the June 2003 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 12 complete groups of 6 players. These 12 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175.

       The total prize money for Round 1 is $420 this month. Total winnings paid in the Tournament of Riches is now $47,855.

       Joel Prescott had the top-scoring solution shown below. Since there were 12 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 11 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 241 points with 42 on the top row.
