Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 82 competing entries for the July 2002 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 13 complete groups of 6 players. These 13 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 4 players. The winner of that group will receive $25. Total prize money for Round 1 is $480 this month.

Robert Thrift had the top-scoring solution shown below. Since there were 14 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 9 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 234 points.
