ROUND 1 RESULTS - APRIL 2002


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's Tournament of Riches. There were 94 competing entries for the April 2002 Round 1 puzzle. This makes 15 complete groups of 6 players. These 15 winners will receive $35 each, or they may choose to continue to Round 2 and try for $175. There is also one partial group with 4 players. The winner of that group will receive $25. Total prize money for Round 1 is $550 this month.
       Congratulations to Arlin Anderson and Robert S. Lawrence who have reached $1000 in winnings. They are the 12th and 13th players to reach this goal. They are no longer eligible to play Round 1, so all other players will move up 2 more places.
       Wilma Smith had the top-scoring solution shown below. Since there were 16 groups, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 7 points lower and still win. The cutoff was at 226 points with 39 on the top row.
