ROUND 1 RESULTS - March 2005


       Thank you for playing in the Contest Center's One On One puzzle contest. For March 2005 there were 56 Round 1 entries.

       Half the players win on each puzzle, so there are 28 Round 1 winners this month, for a total of $504.

       All winners will receive forms asking if they wish to continue to the next round. The forms are enclosed with this mailing. Winners who wish to risk their prizes and continue to the following round must sign and return the forms by the given deadline. Winners who wish to stop and take their prizes may discard the signature forms. Winners will receive either their prize check or their higher round puzzle(s) with the next month's Round 1 puzzle. If there is an odd number of players for a given higher round, one player will be held over to a later month.

       Lee Morgenstern and David Simmonds had the winning 195-point solution for the Round 1 puzzle shown below. Since there were 28 winners, you did not need a top score to win. In fact, you could score 13 points lower and still win. The cutoff for winners was at 182 points with 29 on the top row.
