       Inner Circle is a series of monthly puzzle contests designed for the more skillful solver. The puzzles are harder than the puzzles in the Contest Center News, and the entry fee is much higher. This is designed to produce larger prize shares, so there will be a bigger payoff to the winning players, at least $100 to each winner, whenever possible.

       The series is intended for the stronger players, but anyone who wants more challenging puzzles is invited to participate.

       There will be a different type of puzzle each month.

A one-year subscription to the series is only $5 (Canada $7, overseas $9). Winners will be announced with the next puzzle following the deadline. Prize checks will be enclosed, unless a tiebreaker is needed. We will try to adjust the level of difficulty to avoid tiebreakers.

Letters and Numbers

Draw a continuous path through the letter and number grid below. Your path may begin, end and turn at any number, but not at a letter. Circle your starting number. Your path may go horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. Your path cannot go through the same letter or number in the grid more than once. Your path must contain each of the letters from A through Z exactly twice. Each column in the grid contains either 11 letters or 11 numbers.
Add the numbers along your path to get your score. The highest score will win. In case of ties, the path with the highest first number will win, then the second number, and so forth (skipping letters).
