IN & OUT RESULTS


       There was a mistake in the printed In & Out puzzle. (The error was not present in the online puzzle.) The rules said to write 12 words, but the diagram had spaces for only 11 words. There were 22 paid entries to the In & Out puzzle. Of these, 14 people solved the puzzle using 11 words, 6 people solved it with 12 words, and 2 people solved it both ways.

       Among the 14 people who used 11 words, 7 players found the solution below left with 21 circles and words earliest in alphabetic order. This would make prize shares of $56.

       Among the 6 people who used 12 words, 3 players found the solution below right with 23 circles. This would also make prize shares of $56.

       Of the 2 people who sent in 2 solutions, 1 player had the winning solution for both versions. This, too, would make prize shares of $56.

       Since the prize shares are less than $100, a tiebreaker will be issued. There will be a single tiebreaker for all 11 winners.
